Hey everyone!

It's been a crazy couple weeks in the Shinedown camp. First off, we want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who bought our new album The Sound of Madness. It debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200 chart. We couldn't have done it without the amazing support of all our fans, so thank you!

We hope you are enjoying ourawesome new website. We've been posting lots of photos, behind the scenes video clips and blog updates, but we really want you to get involved too. So head over tothe photos galleryand submit any photos and videos you've taken of us at shows and then keep a look out to see if they appear on the website.

We've just added some new merch to our official store including an extremely limited edition of The Sound Of Madness which is signed by the whole band. But there's less than a hundred on sale. So act quick! We also added three brand new Shinedown shirts to our merch storewhich basically means three more excuses not to do your laundry just yet. Check them out.

Keep rocking!

Submitted By: Al\n\nI understand where you are coming from, me and my sister were the first ones in line at noon on Friday. So we got to be 3 feet from Brent and the speakers so maybe that is what making our opinions differ. And I did forget to mention that being there that early allowed me to meet the band, and Eric did say that Brent was fighting a cold, or was having voice issues (nothing major for anyone to worry) but maybe it just wasnt his night. Nonetheless... I thought the "show" was fucking awesome!

Submitted By: Krystle\n\nJust wanted to put my two cents...Brents' voice is strained and tired...I heard his sound check in Victoria, Tx a few wks ago...his voice just gave. But when it was time for the show...he wailed!!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinon...but think about it..he does this every night...its his job..its his life...if he doesnt have a good vocal nite...oh well. He gives his all. And thats that. :]

Submitted By: RyanI\n\nAl- I saw them 4 years ago at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster when they were still doing smaller venue shows. Brent did an acoustic solo of 45 and it was unbelievable. The first album Leave A Whisper had amazing vocals on it and seeing those songs live that first time was amazing. We are all entitled to our own opinion and I feel like the voice is just not there like it used to be. If you really paid attention on Friday evening the instruments were tuned up almost to the point they were covering Brent's voice. On many songs you couldn't even hear the words being sung. Compare it to Black Stone Cherry, where the vocals were loud and crisp, wasn't so when Shinedown was on. I love the band and am a huge supporter, I just feel as though there may be some vocal issues with Brent, which if there are, I hope they are overcome. There was a long break of 18 months between albums, which is a long time, my thoughts are it was a time to relax his vocals. I dont know, maybe the first time I saw them at the Chameleon it was just a special night. I guess we'll see if anyone else is of the opinion I am on future posts. As I said, I'm going to continue to support and I hope the guys keep rocking. Congrats on the engagement Brent and good luck in the married life.

Submitted By: Al\n\nI don't know what the last post was talking about. The show in Philly on Friday was probably the best show out of the 15 or so times I have seen you guys. Nick fits in with Shinedown like a fucking glove as does Eric and Zach. I hope you guys come back to Philly soon. Brent I think if anything over the years your voice has only gotten better. I still remember the free show on Penn's Landing... that was a CRAZY fucking show. Bodies were flyin from the outside. You guys ROCK and hope to see yous again real soon!

Submitted By: Ryan\n\nI am a huge Shinedown fan and have seen them 4 times in concert, including last evening at The Electric Factory in Philly. I saw them for the first time 4 years ago and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been too. Brent's voice was unbeilevable, especially on 45 and Simple Man. Since that time I've been disappointed in the shows as Brent's voice has seem to go downhill. I'm posting this asking what is wrong with Brent? The last 3 shows I've been to, when the strong and long notes are meant to be hit, he either pulls the microphone away from his mouth or he points to the crowd and asks the crowd to sing. I know this type of sining is hard on the vocal chords, but if he's having issues with his voice, take a break and don't push it. I want to see him at his best and these last few times have definitely not been that way. Most people probably don't recongize this because they are only seeing the band for the first time now that they've hit it, but for those of us who have been long time fans and have seen them before they hit the big time, I'm asking the question have you realized this as well? Brent I love you and the band, I was just disappointed last night as I was hoping to see you in your form of 4 years ago as the last two times I was disappointed as well. I'm going to keep on supporting you, but just wondering what the problem is? Keep on rocking.....

Submitted By: Dan McNay\n\nI felt compelled to write to you guys to tell you what an incredibly real and true set of musicians you are. I am a guitar player and rocker from the 80's and I have to say you guys are the only modern band that can make my arm hairs stand up. It is about time musicians today finally figured out that music is about melody, harmony, storytelling and ability. You guys have it all and I wish you the very best now and in the future because you deserve it for the soul factor alone. Keep rockin'!!!!

Submitted By: Debbi Harrington\n\nGreat, great, great CD - I love "kick" starting my day with track 2 - Sound of Madness. It puts me in a great mood on my way to work. Usually there's a track on most CD's that you can skip while listening - NOT THIS ONE - I love it ALL - every single track is on my MP3 player so I can listen at work!! Thanks so much, you guys take care!!
