    GET UP - Official Video

    Hello everyone!
We are so proud to unveil the new video for our song Get Up! Directed once again by our good friend, the legend himself, Mr. Bill Yukich!
From the moment Get Up was written it seemed to have a purpose. It had a pulse and a heartbeat that wouldn’t allow it to be ignored. Brent wrote the lyrics about me, and about what until that point had been my private battle with severe depression and anxiety. I never talked about it with anyone and it was only known by my wife, my band mates, and my close family. But that all changed. With the swipe of a pen and a few simple piano chords, Get Up crashed into our lives! It raised its hand! Calling out for us to throw off the stigma that is so often associated with mental health and addiction issues, and to unashamedly and without fear write and talk about our most personal struggles! Get Up was the birth of the album Attention Attention. It was the moment that made everything ok. It was a saving grace for us, and we hope that it will be for you as well.
So, without further ado...from Mr. Bill Yukich, and from the four of us in Shinedown, we hope you enjoy the newest cinematic piece of the Attention Attention story.
    This is GET UP!

I just want to say, I haven't had a song in years hit me as hard as this one has. This song came out perfect timing for me. I had my daughter 4 yrs ago (was 27), didn't realize I was dealing with post pardum depression (which is due to my past and having a daughter made me terrified and over protective). I didn't want to talk bout it either. I just kept brushing it under and I started drinking heavily again till May of this year. I had a moment that made me realize, what am I doing, don't go down that path, again.

This song is helping me to keep moving, more than ever I needed this. Thank you.

Brent Smith and the incredible men of Shinedown,

About 12 years back, when I was around 19, I found my Second Chance at the end of a very rough year; a chance that taught me that what I was doing, leaving home, was right, that for me, it was okay. For that, I can never thank you enough. You gave me the words to my hurt and from that, I was able to heal and move forward.
You are all powerful beyond measure. You all posses a strength that your fans, myself included, lean on every day to GET UP and get a move on!

Thank you.

It's never goodbye, it's just 'till next time.

I cannot thank Brent enough for this song nor could I be more proud of Eric. This album came at the perfect time.

Eric, I hope this song has helped you as much as it has helped me. I'm proud of you for standing up against the beast daily to show the world your true talent.

Brent, I was absolutely speechless. Your lyrics have been a part of my life since 2002. Thank you for showing people the true.

I can't wait to see all of you in toledo, ohio . Only a few more weeks! I will be right in the front!
