Second Chance

this song kept me going its AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This song is the reason I'm alive today. There have been so many times the past year when I just wanted to give up. I would listen to this song, and be reminded that I can have a second chance.

Saw the band at White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA a couple of days ago, and they stole the show. Despite some early problems with voice (sounded like working through a little pharyngitis, dropping an octave here and there, holding back on a few of the high notes in early songs) the energy was great, the songs are stronger than ever, and Godsmack had a hard act to follow. Voice, by the way, got better throughout the show, and by the time they closed with "Second Chance," the entire audience of 20000 was with them. A friend saw them the next day at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Oregon the next day, and said they killed there, too. The things people have been saying are true. They're a hard act to follow because of the commitment to excellence. They were also gracious in remembering that many shows are being canceled around the country due to tough economic conditions and poor sales, and recognized that they succeed because we choose to support them. The gratitude is welcome, and was echoed by other bands on the bill such as Sevendust and Puddle of Mudd. Thanks for a great time, and we'll be watching your continued success.

Been a fan for a few years and finally caught them at Mohegan Sun. Brent is AMAZING as well as the rest of the guys. What a GREAT show!!!

I juz wanted to tell You that the song, "Second Chance" is still my first favorite, and I heard it, for the very first time, on the radio last April, but the D.J. never gave the name of the Band. So, later on in Summer, 'round June-ish, I was visitin' some Friends, and They had this song playin' on Their T.V., and I asked Who that was, They told me, and I've been SOOO 'hooked' on ALL of Your songs ever since!! You DO sing about, AND relate to livin' REAL life!! It, ALL of it comes from,... flows SO very DEEPLY from deep down OUT OF Your Soul!! WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! So, it's NOT juz how You sing, but for me it's MOSTLY as to why!! (The 'REAL' reasons/motives behind,... 'IN' ALL of Your songs)!! THANK-YOU, again, SO VERY MUCH for deeply touching and moving AND BLESSING at the very least,... little ol' me with ALL of Your songs!! (And You'll probably NEVER really know as to juz HOW very much You DO do that)!! MANY BLESSINGS, & MUCH "LOVE & PEACE" for & to You & Your Family, as well as to the WHOLE band & ALL of Theirs!!! redheat: i am right there with you. my husband left when i was diagnosed. he said he couldnt deal. i am actually greatful he left at the beginning. i learned to hold my own hand and the only hero i have looks me in the mirror every day. i felt the same way about sharing. dont be my friend so you can say you were there. but be there cause you can say you are a friend. i fight every miniute of everyday to be alive and i am not going down without an epic battle . cause if you are alive the war is already won. you must be your own hero for now...and i am here too. i can feel all the love from shinedown and its fans sending good vibes in both of our directions...

i just finished my 2nd round of radiation treatment for thyroid cancer. going thru all this shit including 2 surgeries could have kicked my ass to the curb. but i am still fighting. thanks in a huge way to shinedowns music. i have all their songs on my phone and when i put my earphones on and turn up the volume nothing can get me down. the pain just fades out. thank you guys for getting me thru the biggest game of my life. wish i could see you'all when you come to dallas in august. i could celebrate the end of the beginning at the kickass show of the year!!! peace, love and keep rocking for the cause. mhprn@hotmail.com

I am 28 years old, and I am at long last going back to school to pursue a degree in fine arts. This was my original dream in high school, but my mom died of cancer before I could graduate, and my remaining family left me homeless. They also told me that art was a "junk" degree; sadly, I listened. I did go to college, but I turned my back on my best talent and pursued a number of other "successful" career choices out of desperation to survive. It took me years to realize what those people had done to me. This song in particular jolted me with its message, and caused me to seriously think about what I was doing with my life. I decided to go back. Now I have my own second chance to chase a dream, and I hope others take a cue from this song. Saying thank you doesn't even begin to cover how grateful I am! This song changed my life....

This song has change my life and made me to start to love shinedown.
