Once Upon a Time I attended my first SHINEDOWN concert...

After much anticipation, the day is finally here

I am finally seeing SHINEDOWN!  My boys I shall hear

For the first time!  There!  I finally see my boys!

Now let's get this party started!  Let's make some noise!

I'm here with my friend and Cheryl (BlessMy4),

And her hubby, Brian, who makes me laugh until I'm sore!

Only one problem, my camera doesn't work!

I can't take any pictures!  I feel like such a jerk!

Because the pictures I really want to share

With y'all.  The camera, I do take care.

My phone! The camera in there I can use.

Although smaller, it's better than nothing, I muse.

Ah!  Brent!  At the front of the stage I see!

Oh my gosh!  I swear he's looking right at me!

Over here! I am the geek with the thick-rimmed glasses

Wearing the serenade t-shirt amid the masses!

Our eyes meet, and he blew me a kiss, you see,

And not to the 50 millon women behind me.

Right in front is Eric and Zach, so close, I panic.

I'm so excited to be here, I'm downright manic!

Eric is jamming while his back tries to mend.

I hope he takes care.  This message we want to send.

Zach is fierce while working the crowd

Staring us down and rocking it loud!

Banging the drums; dreads flying is Barry

Rocking away enjoying the sound that carries.

So humble, appreciative, and sweet are these men.

On this day, September 14, 2010.

The concert is over, but I'm not gonna whine.

I remember Brent's words:  "It's not goodbye; it's only 'till next time!"
