I'm 52 and I have lived a full life and so far I have been through so much pain I have had enough fuel to visit the stratosphere a few time and how rewarding is that. Something I have lived by is if they were no pain you wouldn't know what good felt like! I love your music and your song writing I am amazed how your music always seems to relate to my life it sometime feels like you have a window into my life when your writing.

I so agree with pain can you a stronger person it did me 10 years ago a lost a baby to a horrible accident and it is true i am stronger now than I ever thought i could be. I am so glad I watched this. That Tat is an inspiration, Brent. When life gives you hell, everyone is downing you and condemning what you say, just stand up and say, "It's my life. I am making a change for the better. You don't like my sound of madness, then go elsewhere."

that helps alot cause i have alot of pain in my life and that is so true about pain and there is alot of people that have it and it is words of wisdom and very much true thank you for explaining that

Really needed to see that one and be reminded as I go in for oral surgery tomorrow morning, Shinedown will be with me in my ears via my ipod (even bought special buds for this, can't wait til I get my headphones too lol) but anyway.......I'm scared and will obviously be awake for it, and it is something I've been through before, but not *awake* for it in like a decade...........your group has gotten me through some of the most excrutiating moments I've ever endured, emotionally as well as physically........especially my divorce and issues with custody of my daughter that I'm going through now, they type of pain where I have to literally check to see if my heart and blood are still located on the inside of me.........you've seen me through it all............tho you've heard this many times alll over the world........just sayin......thanks for being there :)

I like what you said ther. Why not make a song who is about 'fight', pain or something like that? :)

I have no tats i am old enough to decide on my own now but not to old to have one stuck in the middle, but I understand pain so if I were to have tattoos I want mercy and grace on each wrist across my scars cause that was what was gave me for my pain and every day those two words make me fight the saddness inside so that the light shines through.

I already use my pain as a gift, even if it had wore me down to barely liking anyone, but I get by in life.

My name is Kathy...I just saw your video about your tattoo your pain is a gift..I had seen it befor on a picture my daughter had taken with you at a meet and greet with you last weekend...I have been in recovery celebrating 14 years august 14th..I have learned all my pain along the way has been the greatest gift I could ever ask for..I am very phycic I do visual readings no cards no darkness...I get my gift from God...and it comes thru my eyes...and is fuled by my heart and belife system..I see a baby girl comming to you in the near future..there is a decision you are wrestling with as you have so many times before..and thru your pain you have recived many gifts and the decision you make will be once again a gift..I have so much I see when I visually look at you..I belive I am a spirt guide..I have felt connected to you ever since I saw your tatto...In my 51 years I have seen many tattos never one more true then the one I saw on you..I hope you will forgive that dark man from your past he pops up now and then but he can never hurt you again..there has been much on your journey I am so proud of you I know you thru my eyes I look forward to being able to chat with you and someday meet you because you are a BEAUTIFL person..many may see different or judge but the truth has set you free and me also..I look forward for you to respond..Kathy....Hey bretn Im lorin I met you with my friend last week and we were on the cruise wit you guys as well...my mom is so for real its scary she hasnt been able to stop talkin about this since she saw the pic of you...so I had to post this comment...Im takin her to the next show..she's old school hippy real good people my best friend...so she talked and I typed..peace and love!! Brent, I agree completely with that mentality. When it gets tough and you think you can't go on, KEEP GOING. You can learn a lot about yourself with that motto and improve who you are as a person. Barry, can I just say I love yours too? We are a very Irish family and that phrase is often heard in our home. You guys rock!

TBone_2's picture

Very true Brent, It's also a blessing to be able to express one's creative energies with good 'ol ink. I have lots of ink that has wrapped up my life in full circle. To feel the pain is to accept the pain by either giving in or taking it on as a challenge as you mentioned. Couldn't have wrapped that up betterr myself.

Brent is amazing! I love how he describes that! and I love what he means by "Your Pain is a Gift"
