Part 2: NEW YORK BLITZ FOR AMARYLLIS!!

After the MTA Police let us do our thing in Penn Station for a while (I just wasn’t allowed to do the amp thing inside), my son and I went out to Madison Square Garden where we could utilize all our resources and spent several hours, the whole morning and most of the afternoon at “The Garden” where we handed out hundreds of flyers, going through three 9-volt batteries in the amp and exhausting both the internal and an external battery pack for the phone/MP3.

I had to find a place to recharge the phone and get more batteries. We walked through the streets of Manhattan, wearing the sign all over!! I found a place to charge the phone and had another idea while my phone charged. We made our way to the Empire State Building. I wanted to take the Amaryllis message high over Manhattan. Unfortunately, I underestimated the popularity of this landmark. $40 for tickets and TWO Hours in line later, mission accomplished and Amaryllis is part of the NEW YORK CITY SKYLINE!!!

Next, we continued our promotion efforts walking to Times Square where, armed with fresh batteries, we strummed the guitar, pumped out the sounds of Amaryllis and handed out the remaining flyers until again we exhausted our resources.

Then we hung out in front of the Hard Rock Café with our Amaryllis sign using every minute we had left in town to share our message until it was time to walk back to Penn Station and take the long ride home, arriving a little after 11pm (my son pooped out on the train). Wow, what an outing!!! We met dozens of really awesome people and spent over 12 hours in New York on our Amaryllis promotional adventure.

I thought that was all I needed to do (except to try to convey all we did in a few paragraphs here) but I didn’t know how to take the photos and put them in a collage to submit. Well, after hours on Google, I bought Photoshop and taught myself how. Like I said, I’m a simple man. I hope they come out right. It’s now Sunday evening and I hope I getting this submitted in time!!

Again, in addition to our previous efforts, I have tried to rise to the challenge of being vast and brilliant in support of a band and album we really believe in. Please consider these efforts, we would cherish the iPad and the whole family would benefit. Also, it would make an awesome (and probably best) Birthday gift (I will send my ID to prove my birth date and that we live in PA or any receipts should there be any questions)!! Thanks!!!

Nice job and happy birthday! I know what you mean about receipts etc. We traveled a lot and went through ink like crazy. It is nice to see that other people also took pics of what they actually did. Fantastic job from one fan to another. Like I said, I honestly hope we are judged in different weeks :)

Again, your comments are VERY appreciated. Yea, this whole endeavor might be over the top but that's what I'm going for. Someone at work said to me when they heard I was taking off and why, "why don't you just buy an iPad with all the money you're spending?" Well, I've never priced an iPad so not sure what they cost but that's not the point, right!?! It's about supporting a band and the music you love and believe in and this isn't just ANY ipad, it's an EXTREMELY special one that the whole family would share and cherish!! If I don't win one, not sure what else I could do to demonstrate our drive and determination. Regardless, God Bless, Happy Easter and Good Luck to all! Thanks for the Birthday wishes as well. I have my fingers crossed!!

I think it is the extra effort that is appreciated. I know how hard my kids and I worked on ours, and I can clearly see the effort you put into yours as well.
