Bloom around the world

There is just no way to do this in one pic. We took to the streets of the Oakland area of Pgh, more specifically, Schenley Park and University of Pittsburgh, on Buccos (Pittsburgh Pirates) opening day and two days prior to Spring Break. We taped flyers to the car because we KNEW we would be stuck in traffic. We first visited Frick Fine Arts and the fountain in front to hand out flyers. A group of four guys offered to take a pic when they asked what we were doing. We took a pic on a bench in front of the historic Forbes Field. We headed to Schenley Plaza to blow bubbles and play for a bit, where my helper stretched out because she was 'exhausted from the footwork'. The tall building in the background ofthe first photos is the Cathedral of Learning which hosts the Nationality Rooms. Since class is in session still, many of the rooms were occupied. With recent bomb threats, I didn't want to take any more time away from classes, so we stuck to the unoccupied rooms. We took pics in different Nationality rooms to take Amaryllis 'around the world'. We went to the Turkish, Ukranian, Armenian, and two other rooms. Finally, we visited the steps behind Frick to draw with chalk. At the bottom of the steps is a student parking lot that is utilized quite a bit because it is the cheapest parking both on and off campus (at $4/day). I used these steps daily as a Pitt Student. We wrote 'Believe', 'Profound' and 'Amaryllis', along with placing flyers onn the rail (you can seeone in the background). We stopped taking pics a few times to give out flyers. My hope is that with the itunes info on the flyer, a lot of the people who took one will be checking out the album on their Spring Break travels or adding to theirplaylists for their horrendous daily commutes.
I also included pics of my daughter at her school with teachers. Last year in preschool we had to dealwith bullying toa pretty harsh degree. This school (PA Cyber) was amazing at handling the situation and helped me continue to teach my child to know her worth and always stand up for herself. They were glad to take a pic with us.

If you like this, you can see what we did for the first entry last week (Day 1 Helping Amaryllis Bloom, its still on my profile). So far, we've logged over 200 miles of blooming and countless amounts of ink and paper, and lots of fb, twitter, and (gasp) face-to-face time talking about it :)
