Amaryllis in the Classroom

My husband and I have been Ambassadors of Shinedown for many years. Shinedown is common knowledge in all of Mr. Gales's DGS High School classes and every parent at our local elementary school as I am the mom who frequently shows us in my Shinedown gear. In the weeks leading up to the release of Amaryllis, Chris has played the single Bully and showed the video. He also used the video Bully as a tool when the school of 3,200 students was implementing a school wide program to fight bullying. When the digital stream became available he played the entire album during lab time. On a recent exam study guide he included a link to Shinedown's website and made the secret word for the test Amaryllis. Any student who found the secret word and put it on their exam got extra credit. Many students in his classrooms and friends of those students have purchased Amaryllis because of being introduced to the music is his classroom. I also work as a Substitute at the school and it has become clear to me that any student who has heard of Mr. Gales, which includes more than only his classroom, knows Mr. Gales's love for Shinedown. I have shown the video for Unity to classes because I think the message is perfect for our school as it is diverse. Many students who are not in Mr. Gales's classes have viewed his webcasts often including Shinedown music. His YouTube channel is www.youtube.com/user/dgsbio400. When I told a friend about the contest she said she would gladly write me a letter of recommendation as a serious Shinedown Ambassador, lol! Our children, especially my 4 year old daughter, already have all of the lyrics memorized (with the exception of a song or two, lol). We are truly a Shinedown family!! If we won the IPad, Mr. Gales could continue to spread the word of Amaryllis using his signed IPad! Regardless, we will continue to spread the word but thank you for the opportunity;)
