Thanks so much for sharing, and I don't know if Shinedown realizes how much their music reflects on cancer and how it affects people and their loved ones, but they hit home for me. I know the "sound of madness" (when the doc says "you have cancer") the "book of pain" (all the damn surgeries one endures) not counting the financial and mental pain, and so many other feelings that Brent speaks of. The second line of "second chance" "by the way, I made it thru the day". I would have to hear those words just to leave my driveway to go to work during chemo, because getting up and ready, FELT LIKE A WHOLE DAY. I'm sorry for your loss, but at least we have SHINEDOWN keeping it real. Take care all. Love Jen.

This is the song I listened to over and over, to get me through chemo and radiation, and five plus surgeries. I've been through hell, but I'm here and I have my second chance at life. That's what this means to me, I hope and pray you get this message, your voice kept me going on days that death was staring at me, eye to eye. I win, I choose to survive. You pull at my heartstrings, its so intense and real. Love you baby, love you all, keep rockin' and come back to Kansas City, MO so I can see you!! Sounds as if my brother is speaking to my parents and I....having a very difficult time. I bought your cd...there are 2 other songs that remind me of my brother I play them over and over when I am by myself. Can you give some details on the song?

Submitted By: Brad\n\nIt's interesting that I saw you guys perform off your first album titled "Us and Them" with Godsmack and Rob Zombie. Songs such "Save Me, Lady So Divine, Heros, Etc" had great sound to them. Then I was able to see you guys at Krockathon here in Syracuse, NY and again I was not dissappointed. I am a vet from the Iraq war and diabled 100% from that but I have best friends there still; they appreciate you guys, your sound and when you went there for them and I thank you as well because I know what it means as well to have those moments. Getting back to music, This Sound Of Madness CD is not to dissappoint either. From Devour to Second Chance right to the title track 'Sound Of Madness' it's a wonder people who I told years ago to buy the 'Us and Them" CD are buying both CDs and continually playing your music. Glad to see people finally get SMART. Keep on making great music and Don't change what works! By the way, any plans of coming back to Rochester or Buffalo NY area simply because you always are rocked here >grins< and it's been a year since Krock

I hadn't heard the song, so I searched on line and saw the video. I was skeptical as to whether or not he could sing it.Well, he surprised not only us, but his whole school.We are very proud of him. His performance is on YouTube (Xan, Rose Acres).My family is a Shinedown fan now. We love the whole CD!
