HELLO fellow beer friends.

Today's beer is from the UK known as, my little friend, Newcastle. Most people, myself included, have a beer that they enjoy as their everyday drink of choice. It could be a cold Bud, Miller, PBR, Coors, or Corona, but you all know that you have your 'guilty pleasure' in beer choices. Ours is Newcastle Brown Ale.

Eric and myself find ourselves drinking this beer more often than not, and are perfectly happy with our choice. Here's the deal...... The beers mentioned before aren't bad, or most of the US and world drink them on a regular basis without giving it a second thought. However, when it comes to a beer snob like myself I can't really condone some of the ones listed above. I digress, Newcastle IS good. Period. It may not be one of the finest beers worldwide but it is a very drinkable every day beer. Solid brown color with a light caramel flavor, slightly skunky on the nose, but not on the palate. I truly believe this beer is best out of tap, followed by bottle and as cold as you can get it. The head doesn't last long, but the beer isn't that effervescent to begin with. This goes great with greasy pub food or just chillin' with some snacks on a lazy Sunday. Many a hangover has been earned by this lovely caramel brewskie. I thank you my British friends. Keep up the good work. This beer gets a solid 3.5 out of 5 Solo cups.

Peace, Love, and Cold Beer ya'll.
Barry

Submitted By: marika\n\nHello Barry, I want to thank you again for taking the time to come over to us at Pinkpop (The Netherlands). I was so overwhelmed that I didn't know what to say anymore. I just want to say that you Shinedowners really rock and the four of you are really great musicians. My daughters (the two tall ones who were with me) are really great fans of you and they still can't believe that they really shook hands with you! But...we have the photo's to prove it. Thanks again and hopefully the next time (if there is any chance of meeting you) I can make normal conversation. By the way, I know that you are just normal people like us, but it is very special to see you perform on stage, and afterwards people can just talk tot you. I must say that the four of you are very down to earth!!! Well, enough talk!! Hopefully we see you soon perform on another gig in Holland!!! We shurely be there!!

Submitted By: Lindsay Flint\n\nI love following you all around the Show-Me state of Missouri! I never miss a performance. I've never met a band who cared so much about their fans. I also love how you inspire us, just like we inspire you..it's like a never-ending circle that turns and turns gaining more momentum as more and more people join the circle! At ROCKFEST you all said that you want a bartender lady and that is ME! I'd follow you all anywhere. Much love, Lindz

I snapped a great pic of Zack playing and you in the background with your feet up on the drums. Captures your laid-back attitude perfectly! We'll see you again on Stimulate This at least twice. We'll get together for a Fat Tire after one of those. Keep rockin!

Submitted By: ZippoDude1932\n\nI thought you might like this fact about Newcastle Brown Ale. In Newcastle, the beer is often called 'Dog' or simply 'Broon.' The 'Dog' name comes from the euphemism "I'm going to walk the dog" - meaning "I'm going to the pub." Good luck tomorrow night in Cleveland. www.ZippoEncore.com

Submitted By: Naomi\n\nHey Barry! While we are on the subject of beer... Shinedown will be playing in Rockford, IL on Sunday, May 24 (Our 16th Annual WingDing!!). We also have an awesome brewery in Rockford, Carlyle Brewery. Always has at least 10 fresh beers on tap. One of their newests, Half Wit, is pretty good. Maybe you could stop by the brewery before you guys go on stage . . . the show starts at noon, nine bands are playing and your headlining. That should give you enough time to stop in for a cold one . . . not too many should be at Carlyle, they'll all be at WingDing!! I know that's where I'll be. I can't wait to see Shinedown again!! Have a safe journey to Rockford!! ;-)

Submitted By: Mel\n\nmmm beer! If you guys EVER come to Canada (hint hint I say it in every post so do it already) You must try Alexander Keiths, by far my favourite and its brewed in Nova Scotia they have cream ales to reds to pale ales so you must give er a try! Seriously though detroit and chicago are the closest places in Ontario and its still a jaunt from any major city in Canada so get yourselves up to T.O or Montreal and you won't regret it I promise!
