Brent Smith changed my life

It’s been over a month since I’ve seen SHINEDOWN live in Cologne. We recorded the concert when it was shown on TV yesterday and I remembered everything; I wanted to go back there so badly!

Brent Smith understands my feeling of rock music like no other. He made it clear when he said that “rock music will NEVER die”! I can only say it over and over again, I love this man, I love this band, I love this music! It’s more than just music, it’s a religion, a way of life!

These feelings I have about it, the rock’n’roll, go deeper than anyone knows. And until I saw SHINEDOWN live, until I heard Brent Smith talking about rock music, I alway thought that there’s no one out there who understands me; now I know better. It’s up to us, to bring the rock’n’roll back to life, to make it rise. And with bands like SHINEDOWN, this will happen!

We need the support of everyone who feels close to this. Anyone out there who always thought there is no soulmate out there regarding rock music, here we go!

This is more than love, deeper than love, bigger than love! It’s life! The rock music rules my life and I don’t ever want this to change!

On 27th March (23rd March in Germany), there will be the new album of SHINEDOWN. It’s called “AMARYLLIS” and it will represent the beginning of THE RISE OF ROCK’N’ROLL!! And for everyone out there who has a little interest in rock music, it’s necessary to buy it.

Brent Smith’s words changed my life! I thank him for being the man who showed me that there is someone out there who understands me. I thank him for songs like “The Crow And The Butterfly” and “What A Shame” which helped me through hard times. I thank him for his kindness, his smiles, for being himself. And above all, I thank him for the rise of rock’n’roll!

I LOVE SHINEDOWN! I LOVE ROCK MUSIC! I LOVE ERIC, ZACH & BARRY! AND I REALLY LOVE BRENT!!

There is something Brent Smith (Shinedown) said which touched me because my first thought was: He’s right.

He said that rock music isn’t taken serious in the charts. How can it happen that the best rock song is on place 64 (Nickelback)?!? And that’s just the case in America, in Germany, it’s even worse.

One thing is clear to me: This has to be changed!

I loved rock music from the very first moment on and I know that most people don’t hate it, they just don’t care. It wasn’t only once that I presented a rock song in class and it turned out that most of the people recognized how great it was. And this is the point: People stopped caring about the music they listen to. They don’t give a damn. It doesn’t even have to make any sense.

We have to change our way to think about music. We have to feel the passion again that lies within. And that’s what rock music brings across: passion!

So we - as true fans of bands like Shinedown, Nickelback, Daughtry, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Three Days Hrace, Halestorm, Sick Puppies and all the other great rock musicians out there - WE need to support the rock music because IT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ALIVE!!!!

buy albums and singles of rock bands legally
tell your friends and everyone who listens about rock music
buy and wear merchandise
show your love of rock music to the whole world

Brent Smith’s words actually challenged me to start this sort of a little campaigne.
