i discovered you guys in 2010 i cut tobacco for weeks just to get up the extra money to go see you guys. went to the concert blistered, but i loved it.
I have seen bands like AC/DC
I have seen bands like AC/DC and Green Day live but tell you what Brent-you guys have beat all the bands I've seen live-you guys put on such a great show. I've seen you twice at Nottingham Rock City this year Feb 9th then 2009 November 5th which was my 17th birthday. My Grandad had not been given long to live as he was taken to hospital 2 days before by birthday and you guys sung second chance and 45 beautifully and put hope back in me but my Grandad unfortunately passed November 13th that same year. I kept listening to your music to put the second chance thought inside me and it worked so thank you guys for doing such amazing music. I'll be seeing you next October 27th at London o2 Brixton Academy. I'll make sure I'm at the front again :D In February I was at the front-I was the one bowing to you guys with the long black hair which is now short blonde hair :L can't wait to see you guys again!!!!
I was at the Uproar Festival
I was at the Uproar Festival last night in Dallas,TX and loved hearing ya'll. Would have loved to meet ya'll. I've always like your music, but I've never been to a concert until last night. Ya'll rocked!!You sang Simple Man last night and it made me cry. 4 years ago my fiance died in a motorcycle accident and Shinedown was one of his favorite bands. He really like Shinedown's cover of Simple Man and would play it all the time. Thank you for playing it last night- really brought back a lot of good memories. Had a blast last night and will definately being going to more Shinedown concerts in the future.

Brent 2000 words may not cover what I have to say so I will try to give you the abridged version. You are the most open and honest musician that I have ever seen. You let your fans into your life and share your joy and pain. I have every Shinedown CD and DVD that has ever been put out but I have yet to see you in concert. I live in Hibbing MN and the closest largest city to me is Duluth MN. I really wish you guys would come to Duluth and play so I could have the honor and pleasure of watching you perform live and I wouldn't have to drive four hours down to Minneapolis MN to do so. Your lyrics give me the inspiration to keep living my life, and loving my family. Your voice sends chills down my spine because it is haunting. My favorite song above and beyond the other great songs you have written is Crow and the Butterfly. It is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. I am learning the Vianese Waltz to that song. I don't know if you read these posts or respond to them but I just wanted to say thank you so much for being who you are and giving me the gift of your music. YOU ROCK!!!!!

Just saw your Uproar concert
Just saw your Uproar concert in Bristow, VA........my 19 year old son and I just absolutely loved it.......of course this isn't my first Shinedown concert. Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to sign CD's. Each one of you looked us in the face and shook our hand and asked us how we were doing.............I can only speak for myself, but i'm sure it's felt throughout your fans, you all made us feel like you were there especially for us and was only concerned with us having a good time. Hey Brent! Went to go get meet and greet tickets for the blossom show in cuyahoga falls on the 9th for weddign gifts since my fiance and I are getting married the day before! Although I'm fairly sure you'll never read this (and who can blame you?) I need to say thank you. To you, and all the band members. Honestly, your songs have saved my life, many times over. 'Save Me' gave me the courage to ask for the help I needed. But more than anything when everything is falling appart, listening to any of your songs helps bring me back to the present and reminds me that music will always be there, and always be my saving grace, even if nothing else stays the same. I used to live in the past but one thing I have learned is "The past is no valid indicator of the present, I believe!" I am an athlete with a spiritual perspective on distance running and life in general. You guys have been through many tough experience and grown from them. Brent... I would just like to say thank you. I can finally listen to the song 45 again. My uncle shot himself with a 45 a few months ago and this song has helped me realize that sometimes not everything is ok. and it helped me know that you never know when someone is down or about to do something terrible. In 2004 I was in college, my boyfriend was deployed in Afganastan and I sent him a care package with some songs of you're 1 st album...he loved that cd, it got him through some tiimes over there... 9 years later, we are married and now live in Myrtle beach. On July 1 we saw you guys @ HOB in MB for our 1st time! ( which was ridiculously awesome btw) You guys played burning bright... He turned to me and said "this was one of the songs you sent me when I was over seas and I used to listen to this cd to get away from everything !" Brent,you and your band have helped me through my depression and all the struggles in my life. I have survived my ex husband beating me for 7 years, and now he has taken my kids and it was 4 years ago yesterday since I was able to seem them last. It kills me everyday not being able to see them.... I hit a bad bout of depression a few years ago and attempted suicide yet again, and just before I went unconscious the last thing I heard was your song 45 on the radio. And somehow I found the strength to pull through, and thanks to a friend that had a gut feeling to come and check on me, I am here today and still one of your biggest fans. All of your songs carry great meaning to me. I wish one day I can meet you and let you know exactly what has happened in my and let you know exactly what you and your band means to me. Brent Smith changed my life
Its been over a month since Ive seen SHINEDOWN live in Cologne. We recorded the concert when it was shown on TV yesterday and I remembered everything; I wanted to go back there so badly!
Brent Smith understands my feeling of rock music like no other. He made it clear when he said that rock music will NEVER die! I can only say it over and over again, I love this man, I love this band, I love this music! Its more than just music, its a religion, a way of life!
These feelings I have about it, the rocknroll, go deeper than anyone knows. And until I saw SHINEDOWN live, until I heard Brent Smith talking about rock music, I alway thought that theres no one out there who understands me; now I know better. Its up to us, to bring the rocknroll back to life, to make it rise. And with bands like SHINEDOWN, this will happen!
We need the support of everyone who feels close to this. Anyone out there who always thought there is no soulmate out there regarding rock music, here we go!
