if only Brent would share some of the wisdom behind the lyrics of different tracks of the album, so listning to the album would be even more enjoyable...

Why would we need to know, its for the fans but theres mystery in not knowing
I do like hearing the meaning for the song from the band, i like knowing what the meaning is for them. I still have my own interpretation of the song and what it means to me. Some say that knowing what the meaning of the song means to the band and why it came to be messes it up for them. But it kinda helps me and gets in me deeper.. if any of that made sense.. lol
nooooo!! that's the beauty behind the lyrics! having your own interpetation on a song. why ruin it? dont brent! let your fans keep guessing what your songs mean :)
good luck with your search. I was so lucky to have Brent explain one on one his inspiration behind What A Shame after I showed him the lyrics that I have tattooed on my arm. It was also the coolest thing that ever happened to me when he asked my what the song meant to me since I had it tattooed on myself.
..torn on this because while I do enjoy reading what bought about ideas and such for songs and/or albums,in my honest opinion (we all know about those!) songs and lyrics become so powerful because it's the individuals relationship with what the artist is presenting.I may be a "grey-beard" agewise and only recently discovered Shinedown,Brent's lyrics combined with the way the band (musically) presents the material is superb! While it is very deep and compelling,it also may have many different meanings to many people and not meant to be boxed in to one interpretation. No disrespect whatsoever to anyone at anytime,I know what/where the music reaches me and THAT is sign of a true "signature" band!..Peace,love and marijuana to all..
Definately check out youtube and the acoustic show's songs. Brent gave really good insight to the songs either right before or after- hopefully people recorded that part too. Good luck searching
Wendy
If you look on youtube and even around here, he does a couple of Q&A's where he answers where the inspiration for his songs came from...hope this helps = )
