Rock on,
The Shinedown.com WebCrew
I was at the illinois state fair concert; looong time listener, first time concert-goer, haha.
I have been to many concerts in the past, but I can say without a doubt that the Shinedown concert has been the best! You could feel the energy from the stage and it was just great. And after meeting them, I'm even happier. They were so nice!
Love you guys and love the website, btw. :]
Like DJ Blake said, it's not goodbye, it's until next time! I shall definitely be going to another one.

I was also at the concert in Sedalia. Mother nature just did not want to cooperate. Three people were hurt and taken to the hospital because of the high winds. As far as the money, ticketmaster has already refunded our money. I saw Shinedown in Sedalia last year and then in KC this April. They are amazing!!!!!!!!!! I will be looking forward to the next tour.
PS I think that Shindown should sell copies of the Carnival of Madness after the tour is over.
FKshinedown It seems your ignorance knows no bounds. I cannot believe you are still spreading this BS over the internet. I guess I must say this again. And for you maybe again and again, since you have absolutely no manners, tact, intelligence or anything of the sort.
If YOU want to play with electrical equipment in the rain then by all means don't let me stop you. And when YOU get on stage in the rain with all the electrical equipment around you and play for 2 hours then let me know. I'll be there. I'll be as many tickets as I can. Until that day comes keep your disgusting comments to yourself. No one cares what you went through at that concert. No one cares how much you spent. Shinedown wanted to put themselves in HARMS way to please you. But that doesn't make you happy does it? Would it have made you happy if they went on stage and something happened? Yeah probably you sick SOB! How DARE you come on here and continue to spread your BS around. This is a FANS site so STAY OFF! You are not wanted or needed here. So go find someone else to harass because you're not doing it here anymore!
I just wanted to say as you did last night at the Illinois State Fair - THANK YOU! I've seen you guys several times and last night it all came together. I was in Chicago visiting a buddy who got in a serious car accident and let me tell you, the drive from Chicago to Springfield was quite and filled with just thoughts on life and really had me down. I almost didn't come to your show because I was feeling so down. HOWEVER, that did not happen. I came to your show and Chevelle was AWESOME and then you took the stage and rocked! Your words between songs and all your songs really spoke to me. No matter how many times I've listened to your cd's since 2003 something last night spoke to me and it was PERFECT! I have a very different view on life now and you will always be a part of that! I say THANK YOU once again!
It's not goodbye...it's until next time!
Sincerely,
Dj Blake
Took my 13 yr old son to his 1st concert last nite at the Illinois State Fair to see SHINEDOWN. The show was incredible and my son had an amazing time. Thank you for making his first show such an incredible experience. His only disappointment was that he didn't get a shirt. He had told me prior to the show that he wouldn't want one (I think he was trying to be thoughtful cause he knows we are short on $ right now...I'm a single parent and the concert tickets were a gift). However, after Chevelle played and we were waiting for Shinedown to come out, he asked me if he could please have a shirt. I only had $26 and shirts were $30 so needless to say, he didn't get one. My heart is broken cause I know how disappointed he is and how much he would like a shirt from his very first show. I had hoped I could purchase one on the website, but I don't see any similar to the ones sold at the show with the tour dates on back (which is what I think he wanted). Can someone tell me how I go about purchasing a concert t-shirt from the tour? I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks again for the incredible show and for making my sons first concert such a great memory. Best wishes to you all. mmsmith271972@yahoo.com
It's 4:03, and I can't sleep
Without Shinedown playin next to me, I toss and turn like the sea I drowned Last night at the Fair thought I may still be drowning tonight maybe I'll get back to life if one of your songs is in mea
phil from springfield ,mo went sedalia fair last night was disapointed about rain missed you guys in springfield when you came thru . i thought you guys should play music during intermission and all the time we waited from the rain most concerts i've been to do this . thanks phil
Having worked in the industry prior to my first child I can openly, honestly, and directly say that Shinedown could have manned up. They failed to pony up, period! The fact my family sat out in the pouring rain, blew more money on chumps than they apparently deserve, and wasted their attentions on a group of cowardly, unappreciative boys warrants a double salute of the ol' fashioned middle finger.
By no intents and purposes did ANY of the guys formerly known as the artists of Shinedown prove to give a busted pinata about their fans. It's common sense the only way these pansies grew to where they are now is due to said fans. Therefore, if I were any number of you I would ask yourself: As a fan do I deserve this blatant disrespect? The answer, my friends, is NO! Anyone of them could have came out on stage, made some light banter, apologized for having to cancel, and ultimately upheld the autograph session.
Did they? NO! As a result, let all of your friends know that the "artists formerly known as Shinedown" opted to disrespect EACH AND EVERY fan. This could have happened anywhere, with the same result, thus spread the word and give these cowards what they deserve: A DOUBLE FINGER SALUTE! There are countless other artists striving to just be able to eat, pay their bills, and gain the momentum to show the appreciation, respect, and dignity every fan rightfully deserves. Why waste money, attention, and yourselves when the mutual fulfillment is meaningless? Would you stay married to an abusive, unhealthy, person? NO! Thus, don't go to their shows, don't buy their merch, and request radio stations to play better, healthier, more compassionate artists!!!
Simpleman, haha. Y'all are jokes, enjoy having less guts, appreciation, and dignity than a leech!
OMG I can't believe that Shinedown was in control of the weather and all last night. I always knew that they were powerful. Thank god - next time the floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, blizzards, hurricanes, and typhoons threaten, we can just call the boys up to stop them!!!
Seriously.....
I know that last night was a very big disappointment for everyone the fans and Shinedown. I know that a lot of people are upset and understandable. But i just cant and won't believe that Shinedown will not make this up to everyone that attended last night. They only did what they were told to do. It was not up to them. In a situation like that there are others involved and just because you are the main attraction doesn't mean you are FULLY in charge. They were not going to be allowed to perform in bad weather that involved risks to them or anyone else. I just have to much respect for them and i won't disown them. And i do not for a SECOND believe or think that they have forgotten how they got to where they are at this point in their career. I have listened to to many interviews and they do love and appreciate the fans.. I see this and feel this from them more than i ever have any other band that i have ever been into. And i have been listening to many of them for many years.. For those of you that say you are shinedown fans and love the music then what about that SECOND CHANCE?
I think we ( my family) is done with Shinedown. A refund is not going to make up for the time waisted waitng on the band. They could have played in the time we spent sitting there waiting for the rain. It also disghusted me to see the sound guys under the tent laughing at the people who were upset. At least Chevelle knows how to put on a good show!!!
For those of you at the MO State Fair last night who got your tickets through Ticket Master, you will be refunded (according to the lady I spoke with this morning from the fair). However, it is not JUST about money. We drove home (soaking wet), 4 1/2 hours in the pouring rain, trying to explain to our speical needs son why he didn't get to see one of his favorite bands. Needless to say, this morning he is grumpy and disappointed! I would have liked to see Shinedown play a couple of songs "unplugged" out in the rain with the rest of us!
I am hoping our experience is better tonight at the Iowa State Fair. We bought the tickets for our son for his 14th birthday (4th row, even!!!) this is his first concert, and there is a group of 4 going. My son and his friend play Shinedown music together, my son on drums, his friend on guitar. So, this is a great experience for them! It was what he wanted for his birthday, so I hope his birthday wish comes true! The only thing that could make it better is to have them meet the band! Here's to hoping Shinedown comes through!
This year financially my boyfriend and I could only afford to go to one concert and Shinedown at the MO state fair was THE ONE. Not only that but it was for my boyfriend's birthday. So, we coordinate for both of us to have the day off from work to go. We brave excessive heat, sweat pouring off our bodies. We enoy an awesome show from CHevelle. Then the wind and the rain begins. The first time it stopped noone on the stage did anything but stand around. Began again, after this stops we decide to sweep water off stage, look around at things, move some equipmt around and then nothing. Fans waited around for hours. No formal announcement made by your representatives or the fair's. We finally heard from the fire and rescue crew that told us to get out of the grandstand now because the show was over. Should not have spent $30 on a Shinedown T-shirt, should have gotten a Chevelle one. This was to be my first exposure to Shinedown and I was not impressed. The band could not at least come out and wave to the crowd and thank them for coming. Who do they think helped get them to where they are today? What are they going to do for these fans who endured these conditions, not sit in an air conditioned tour bus? I hope you rock it for the folks at the Iowa State Fair tonight. I hope they are not disappointed and disgusted with you.
My husband and I braved the heat & the rain with the rest of the fans in Sedalia, only to be ignored by the band and/or promoters. We had a blast last year and were so excited to see Shinedown again. The truly sad thing is I'm not sure I will spend another dime to see them again. Whoever was calling the shots last night blew it. Only Shinedown will loose because of that. It will be interesting to see what, if any "statements" will be made about the decisions that were made. Just one word from anybody would have pleased the "masses"
Concerts are my passion. I've been going to them for almost 30 years, and I have never been so disappointed by a band, EVER! What ever happened to having a little class? Letting the fans know what is going on shouldn't have been so hard. I understand that safety and protecting your equipment is a concern, but you guys could have given your fans a little something. I love Shinedown's music, and will continue to feel that way, but I am not sure that I can respect a band who treats the fans so poorly. After seeing the band open in Kansas City at the Sprint Center last April, I was pumped to see them again in Sedalia. Now, I feel nothing but disappointment...
I love Shinedown - always have and always will. But I have to say I lost most, if not all, of my respect for them tonight in Sedalia, MO. You know, I spent 12 hours in the rain, mud and muck known as Rockfest 2010 (KC) watching bands the I really like but consider(ed) inferior to Shinedown, and to sit there for 3+ hours tonight supporting the MO state fair for no real reason (no concert after the excellent performance by Chevelle!) because someone decided they didn't want to play a show in a Midwest summer rain (that usually lasts less than thirty minutes) is pretty much B.S.!!! I know you don't want to play when there's a possible hazzard or if the show will suffer because of the weather, but come on guys, it was just a little rain. And if you didn't feel it was in your best interest to play, couldn't you have a promoter, rent-a-cop or some passerby come out and tell us there wasn't going to be a show?? we sat there for more than 3 hours waiting for something that obviously wasn't on your agenda for the night to begin with - POOR FORM!!! If you don't really feel like it's that big a deal and nothing is done to make tonight right, then I have a hard time buying any more of your music, attending shows or suggesting your name when friends are looking for a reliable and solid music source. Sorry, but your actions tonight leave me no option but to think you've gotten bigger than the fans that actually put you where you are...
Well, I wouldn't say I was pissed. Truly DISAPPOINTED and heartbroken. We seen concert last year at MO. State Fair and it was awesome!. We stood there,10th row track seats, sweat rolling where it shouldn't be. Then soaked and drowned to the core, I looked at my 10 y/o son with tears in his eyes at his first concert EVER! My 14 y/o daughter plays drums and JAMS to SHINEDOWN in the garage. The look on her face when we got final word that concert was cancelled...DEVASTATED. Not a single word was said all the way home. SHINEDOWN will continue to rock in our home! HOPEFULLY, Shinedown will return next year and we will be front and center with a beer in one hand and an umbrella in the other.
Just got home from an hour and a half drive, in hopes of seeing the band that made me see things in a different light, and made such an impact on my life.... however, the rain had other plans this evening. Not that I am blaming Shinedown, but itd of been nice had they had the balls to come out and at least say hi to the fans that had been patiently waiting in the rain to pass for over 2 hours. Definitely slanted my opinion. Wheres the commom courtesy to the people that helped put them where they are today. Hope they can make this up to us....
I just want to know what Shinedown plans to do for all the fans that were more than willing to get wet in Sedalia MO just to see you play. But no, they couldn't bother to even try to play. We waited three hours and the rain wasn't that bad. This is rock/metal for crying out loud. We saved what money we had to be able to go to the concert and they couldn't be bothered. Badly done guys. You need to make this right with the fans. There was a lot of pissed of people at the concert and I'm one of them.
As a shinedown fan from the beginning 2003. to a street team member for the ucf orlando show, to the one who who noticed this "Glitch"! I say; SHINEDOWN ROCKS AND SO DOES THERE WEBCREW AND DAN!!!! Once all the points r set back to normal we will be all doing want we were meant to do and that is to promote SHINEDOWN!!!!! If u were promoting them before keep doing it! If u had high points before the "glitch" u will still have hight points after teh correction!!! So go for it!!!! I been trying to hook people on to shinedown since 2003 and this will never change!!!!
So lets all now promoted SHINEDOWN!!!! As true SHINEDOWN fans would do!!!!!!
Thanks Dan for resolving the four square authorizing "glitch"! I see that the issue is resolved...Hopefully soon everyone points will be in order as well! Thanks again!
I went to the Carnival of madness tour concert in Mansfiels, Mass. I thought that all the bands did a great job with there sets. I enjoyed everything that was played and not dissappointed. I was at the concession stand when then salesperson said " if you but this Shinedown cd, sounds of Madness, you can meet the band". So I bought two. Both myself and my fiancee met the guys from Shinedown. Whay an excellent experience, they signed not only my cd but also the white t-shirt I bought. I thought that seing Shinedown fot the second time this year was awesome. I have read some other reviews and all I have to say if you dont like this band then dont listen. I will continue to support this band and continue to see them each and every time they come around.
Thank you to everyone who pointed out the FourSquare glitch. We will go in and remove pointsgained from exploiting this glitch. Really sorry about any confusion.
I went to the show last night at the Charter One Pavilion in Chicago. 10 Years, Sevendust, and Chevelle played great sets, while Puddle of Mudd sounded like a garage band, as expected. How those guys have not been dropped from their record label is beyond me. As for the headliner of the show, Shinedown, they pretty much sucked it up. Their cataclysmic performance was due to many factors. The obvious one for me was how they are now complete sell outs. What happened to the Shinedown that came on stage with just a banner waving in the background and their music being the show? If I wanted to see a bunch on TV screens and distractions I would go to a Green Day concert. Second, if I wanted to hear Brent's voice from a cd recording, I would simply play a cd; not pay money to watch him lipsync all the songs. If you were at this show last night, think back to the song, "Heroes." During one of the choruses he put his hands down, thus removing the microphone from anywhere around his mouth, for the last few words, but magically they still vibrated out of the speakers. Unless he had one of the small clip-on microphones TV anchors use on his extremely homosexual outfit, then I am fairly certain that he can no longer sing. This band simply cannot perform with only four people anymore. There are too many songs on "The Sound of Madness" that have multiple guitars on them. One example is "If You Only Knew." There is an electric and acoustic guitar in this song, yet they only have one guitarist on stage now. Where is the acoustic sound coming from? Playing a backtrack during your shows tells me that the members of Shinedown are no longer musicians. They have reduced themselves to the likes of Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. I have lost all respect for this band and plan on never having to sit through one of their "events" and Brent so perfectly summed it up, because that was not a concert. This band has turned into a joke, and I do not look forward to any of their future work.
If people are gonna complain about it...why dont they just use it themselves.I Think it was kind of a sublimental message because if you open the Earn Points tab it says Activate/Authorizing Foursquare 50pts No Limit/No limit so people should pay attention to that.it took me till now to relize it so if people arent noticing it and figuring it out its their own fault.Just because were using weapons that are available to us doesnt mean were cheating or any less Deserving of winning this competition.
I Was one of the people that worked and still is working hard to promote and earn points...but once i saw the leaders using the foursquare glitch i too started using it too. Because they had the huge upperhand and lead so i Am only being fair to them. Whatever you do dont take the people that are using the foursquare glitch out of the contest because the site clearly says you can do it...and i assume its their for a reason..to do what people are doing. But i do agree with Lockard somewhat.
Something has to be done about the glitch people are using to get points with Share Shinedown. All they are doing is adding and deleting Foursquare to their account and getting 50 points for unlimited times of doing this. I worked hard the first few days to maintain the number 1 spot and was passed 2 days ago by someone doing this and now everyone is catching on to it and its ridiculous because if you promote the right way then there is no way of staying on top anymore. If this isnt fixed soon then I am going to quit promoting at all.
I just joined and when i first saw this site, i immediately fell in love with it, you guys did a great job if you updated it. i love it. the look is fantastic, and the way you did the site and organization is easy for me to follow! =) keep it up. and i am a new fan of shinedown, so You keep it up and Just have fun with it! =)
Hello All,
I just wanted to throw out and idea. Maybe after the COM is over, you could have some kind of contest to give out items from the tour (ie, Brents Top Hat or Cane) or some promotional stuff that might be left over (shirts or posters) signed from all of the guys?!?!
What do you think? I don't know how you would pick the winners or anything. Maybe ask everyone there experience from the show, or the best photos taken at a show?!?!
Just a thought, I think that it would be pretty cool!!!! Think about it,
XO
Cheryl
