first of all Post #1 welcome to the family. and yes I have done the meet and greet before it usually works like this... you should receive an email about a week or so before your show. if not then you can just call artist arena the number on the receipt you got when you purchased your tickets. next it will tell you to be at the venue about an hour or so before the show starts. it will probably tell you to start a line by the door away from the normal line of patrons waiting to get in. have a copy of the email sent to you with the confirmation for your meet and greet and your Id. Although you usually don't need it but it's good to have it just in case. Usually about 30 or 40 minutes before the doors open for the show Jake (shinedown's security guy) will come out to take you in to meet the guys. You can't miss him he is a pretty tall dude with kinda long hair and goatee. He is an awesome dude. So he'll take you in and everyone else who is there for meet and greet as well he'll walk you through the procedure of what will happen. When you get to the meet and greet room he'll ask you to form a line he'll bring the guys out they will usually sit at a table and they will have markers to sign stuff for you. One at a time you'll get to go up to them and have your stuff signed. You can talk to them at this time too lol. and once everyone has gotten their stuff signed you form another line and now jake will take your pic with the guys if you have a camera. once that's done then you'll be escorted back into the concert room and you can claim your place at the rail cuz you usually get in there before the other peeps who didn't pay for M&G. hope that helps.

This will be my first time doing a M&G also so thanks for the info.

thanks for the info. Seen em like 6 times already and thought i'd do the M&G this time. Lookin forward to meeting them, favorite band ever.

Now I really can't wait to get a VIP package for my show (once it goes on sale). Sounds way better than some of the other ones I've been to. I think the front row thing is very much worth it. :o

I saw them in NYC this past January. We had the meet & greet then and had an awsome time. Brent even wished my daughter a happy birthday and dedicated Second Chance to her at the end of the show! That was my first Shinedown show (Finally!). I did get lucky this time for the summer show and got the Platinum VIP tickets with the signed Zach Guitar and front row center seats! I CAN'T WAIT!!
Junkie, you are just a wealth of information! Also my first M&G so I thank you as well! :D
You are all very welcome. I don't know everything but the little I do know I am glad to pass it on to you all. I've done the M&G twice and at that time it wasn't seperated by levels like it is this time. You either had VIP tickets which included the M&G or you had general admisison those were the only two options. Back then I paid about $125 plus tax for each ticket. I'll tell you it was worth every penny of my money just to have a guaranteed meet and greet with my heroes. I knew I would be super nervous my first time meeting then and I wouldn't be able to tell them everything I'd wanted to tell them for 5 years so I got the idea to hand write out letters to each one of them on a white bandana. Each letter was personalized to each band member. One for the reverand, one for the little guy Zach, One for the lead bassist, and one for the awesome Bear. They were all very thankful for their bandanas. During the show when the song heroes was playing Zach saw my wife and I and came over side stage and played just for us and he was laughing and asking that we get louder for him. It was amazing I thought the night couldn't get any better. I was wrong, right before Second Chance was played I caught Eric's attention and he remembered my wife and I from the M&G. He bowed to us and mouthed the words "Thank you" to us. It was one of the greatest feelings ever. Right up there with having my first dance with my beautiful wife at our wedding. It was amazing is the best way to say it lol. After the show the guys were throwing picks and I really wanted one I kept shouting out trying to get one thrown in our direction sadly none came my way. Then I saw Eric coming back over to his mic stand he reached down grabbed his setlist and started folding it up. People were screaming for him to give it to them he simply shook his head no. He jumped off stage and I was calling his name he just nodded at me walked right over patted me on the back and handed me his setlist. I'll never forget that night. These four gentleman proved to me that they are amongst the greatest individuals I'll ever meet. I'm eternally thankful to them and their fans are great people. Whatever I can do to help count on me. You all are family to me. Sorry the story got so long but I'm kinda long winded when it comes to personal stuff lol.

Wow, that is one awesome story Junkie. I can't wait to meet the guys now. ^-^

So I'm guessing during the M&G we can give them gifts and what not? I was planning on it

That was such an incredible story. That really made my day. Thanks so much for sharing!

awesome story junkie! so happy everything worked out so awesome!

and btw, to anyone who wants to tell the guys something, definitely write a letter. i've done 3 M&G's wanting to get to talk to them but you get rushed though so fast there is absolutely no chance. so next time i get the chance i will surely write a letter for them to read when they get a chance. too bad i dont have a m&g for the nickelback show on the 24th. and no CoM dates for me either

Outside of giving them personalized letters I am not sure anything else would be allowed. Not sure what the rules regarding giving gifts to the guys is. Would be good to have an idea though, should just go an ask shinedownjunkie45, he seems to know everything lmao.

another thing about the meet and greet, can you meet the other bands, or just shinedown?

yes you can give the guys gifts. derek beat me to the punch lol. but if your giving them alcohol which some members have in the past. while it is greatly appreciated by the guys be careful if taking it into the venue because they will not allow the guys to take it with them. I would reserve that gift for after the show and give it to the guys outside their bus so you can ensure that they get to benefit from it. but gifts are definately okay to give them.

I'm kind of tempted to bring along a watercolor I did of Eric. It was from a picture I took when I saw them in December. It came out pretty well (which is saying a lot by the standards I usually set for myself.)

for this one i'm not sure what to tell you. cuz the first m&g i went to that I paid to see shinedown on the stimulate this tour i got to meet shinedown first and then they brought out staind. so i got to meet two bands and i only paid for shinedown. although i wasn't too fond of aaron lewis so it was not that great for me but at least i can say i met them too lol.

Yeah, I'm not 21 yet so alcohol is a big time no no and apparently alcohol and chewing gum aren't allowed at the venue I'm going to. I've got some creative juices flowing and I'm thinking of giving them each a gift basket of sort full of stuff.

Wed, 05/05/2010 - 00:22

definitely wear it! shows how devoted you are and promotes the fan club. shows the guys in the band that you love them enough to spend the $45 a year just to be in the fan club

I'll wear mine providing I get my stuff before the concert, which I am hopping I will, so I don't have to complain to the admin to get my stuff. I know some people have been waiting months but I want it now. *Stomps foot* lmao =)

haha that is awesome. i have not gotten a reply from barry. got one from zach and he used the @. and got a replies from brent too. but he did not use the @ lol. it was during the time that he and the @ were going through their tough time, they have since made peace with one another or at least that's what i've seen.

I have a question about the VIP packages... How is the package contents going to be redeemed? Like when do I get the contents that are included such as the lithograph and/or the guitar? I am concerned that I will have to pick that up on the day of the concert and really don't have anywhere to put it, don't have a car to store it in.

shinedownjunkie45

Wed, 05/05/2010 - 19:10

the lithograph you will more than likely get the day of the show they will probably give that to you at the meet and greet. as for the guitar i'm not sure when you'll get that. but hopefully they can help you out by keeping it somewhere safe for you while the show is going on.

Anyone who has done the meet and greet, how does it work, like is it before or after the show, how long does it last, will they do pics/signings, etc.?

If you ask and get a reply back, let us know so we can ballpark other venues as well.

I might. :) Dunno if they'll tell me but it won't hurt to ask.

well just in case your curiosity develops into something more concrete shoot them an email i'm pretty sure they could help. lol.

It's just more of a curiosity thing than anything else, I guess.

i don't even think they would know maybe the folks at artistarena could shed some light on that. :)
Any approximate guesses as to how many VIP packages they're offering per show?
That is something that probaly only the guys would be able to answer.

Any approximate guesses as to how many VIP packages they're offering per show?

Oh, the Facebook dilemma of friending relatives... my mom in law is on there now, and she doesn't like all the pics of me with rock stars. So - I found a neat little dealy on there, where I can block just HER from seeing certain photo albums! I also decided to block her from my profile picture, since I do love to put my profile on a pic of me with the next show we are going to, with me and some hot young rocker dude. Just would prefer to avoid explaining who they are, and why they have all those piercings, tattoos and why their hair looks so messy and dirty. Yeah... she doesn't get it. Thankfully, my husband DOES get it and views my photos with barely any interest. I have to MAKE him take a look at some new "coup" shot I got!

i have to reteach my grandma every summer lol

No problem. I had to go through what everything was on FB with my mom when she got it, lol.

What chat box are you talking about on FB? I'm abvously not as familiar with FB as you guys are. I've been on myspace for longer than I have on my FB

same here I usually send him a message or two via the chat box but so far no luck. and I know he probably gets a ton of those chats from others so i don't blame him.

I tried to chat him up on FB with that lil chat thing on the bottom but I knew he probably wouldn't have responded to it. I probably would have passed out if he did though, lol.

well that's pretty cool. i have not been able to have a conversation with him on fb. although once when he was answering question if you emailed him he replied to my question which was really nice of him.

I'm like a twitter addict just because of the guys. I haven't gotten a reply yet, a kinda sorta half reply I think from Brent like when I was asking about the big announcement he was going to tell us (which he hasn't as far as I know). I did have a slight conversation with Zach on FB when someone asked about the summer tour before they announced it. I was like O.O YAY! and then I yelled out liar because he was denying knowing about the Carnival of Madness but hey he didn't want to get in trouble for spilling the beans.

lmao glad to hear it. i hope i explained it well. lol.

LOL!!!!

same here i got one from brent without the @ so yeah it's like half a reply lol. never gotten on from barry or eric. but got one from zach and he used the @ all he said was "my button broke" but still i was so surprised to see it.i was talking with my wife and i had just replied to one of his pics that he had posted about a tattoo he was getting and i felt my phone vibrate. i told my wife he is probably posting another pic. and lo and behold he replied to me i was so impressed and my wife just laughed and congradulated me lol.

haha i try and reply as much as i can even to the most randomest of tweets by the guys lol. and when brent says he'll on be on twitter taking questions i flood him with tweets hoping one will get a reply. thats how i got him to reply when he was taking questions for that one hour about the Carnival of madness tour lol. and last time I asked him to send a shot out to the Sd nation family and he did. I was like wow he really did it lol. I was really happy. I know bobbette retweeted it so I think that helped too.
my advice... be relentless, reply to anything and everything they tweet lol. when you least expect it you'll get your reply. that's the way it has worked out for me.

I was planning on it
Outside of giving them personalized letters I am not sure anything else would be allowed. Not sure what the rules regarding giving gifts to the guys is. Would be good to have an idea though, should just go an ask shinedownjunkie45, he seems to know everything lmao.

awesome story junkie! so happy everything worked out so awesome!

and btw, to anyone who wants to tell the guys something, definitely write a letter. i've done 3 M&G's wanting to get to talk to them but you get rushed though so fast there is absolutely no chance. so next time i get the chance i will surely write a letter for them to read when they get a chance. too bad i dont have a m&g for the nickelback show on the 24th. and no CoM dates for me either

That was such an incredible story. That really made my day. Thanks so much for sharing!

You are all very welcome. I don't know everything but the little I do know I am glad to pass it on to you all. I've done the M&G twice and at that time it wasn't seperated by levels like it is this time.

1st time doing the M&G(met them years ago at a CD signing-before Zach and Eric)

fortunately we have seats so we dont have to go running back

Hi rybob - welcome! Glad you made it here - you'll love it!! :)

Now I really can't wait to get a VIP package for my show (once it goes on sale). Sounds way better than some of the other ones I've been to. I think the front row thing is very much worth it. :o

thanks for the info. Seen em like 6 times already and thought i'd do the M&G this time. Lookin forward to meeting them, favorite band ever.

This will be my first time doing a M&G also so thanks for the info.

first of all Post #1 welcome to the family. and yes I have done the meet and greet before it usually works like this... you should receive an email about a week or so before your show. if not then you can just call artist arena the number on the receipt you got when you purchased your tickets. next it will tell you to be at the venue about an hour or so before the show starts. it will probably tell you to start a line by the door away from the normal line of patrons waiting to get in. have a copy of the email sent to you with the confirmation for your meet and greet and your Id.
