Chevelle dropping from CoM?

Anyone have more information about Chevelle dropping from the carnival? I see people saying stuff on FB about it, but I can't find anything legit. Apparently WMMR made some announcement that they aren't going on with the tour, and it appears that they've dropped from the Aug 4th show.

God, can Chevelle and Shinedown ever tour together without incident? That's terrible, why couldn't Puddle of Mudd drop out instead?

According to Chevelle's website, they are still on for the COM. Guess we have to wait for an official report stating otherwise.

that sucks majorly... unless things changed, the canandigua show starts at 5 just like the estero show so maybe the ct show is shorter? i dunno... i hope nuttin been cancelled....

so sorry i keep posting on here, but im looking into this.... i aint sure, but one rumor says the band is breaking up..... at the end of the philly show apparently they ended the show saying that they just say chevelles last performance.... high hopes that they mean last COM performance and not last last performance.....

What holy shit breaking up dont say that I just listed them on my top ten lol I love their music even though they were kind of dicks at the m&g

it could mean either, but i think chevelle is just dropping outta COM.... apparently they dont like the sd guys and they think Brent talks too much.... they were the only low energy band there so i guess i see some differences that could cause problems.... but still im disappointed i wont be seeing them again =(

well if they are mad because brent explains his feelings behind his music then FUCK EM ,its not like he's Bono and serj all political and shit

If that's true...that just really sucks. Matt was definitely looking forward to seeing them. And if they ARE dropping, what's going to happen to their 60 min time slot? Is the concert going to end earlier? And if that's the case, then there really IS no reason why the concert can't start later but the M&G stay the same, therefore the VIPs actually get both EE and M&G?

And what happened to contracts? Like, for those of us who payed for shows after Philly, we are paying the same price for 4 bands as others paid for 5.

Hey man leave Serj out of this! (System fan here)

and yeah POM or sevendust can drop for all I care but Chevelle has a good list of songs.

They're really weird about shows at the casino... They usually don't take all the bands but in the beginning they've been saying all the bands were playing but recently, they are leaving Chevelle out so it's entirely possible that they are not playing the casino tomorrow given the fact that the shows usually end at 11.

I really don't care either way. I'm not a big fan of them.

i dont want any of them droppin from the show =( i cant find as much as my dad did since im computer retarded, but he said he saw chevelle dropped the whole rest of the tour.... and i saw that too.... on a site of rumors though... so i dunno if that counts.... COM, shinedown.com, && chevelleinc.com still list every date other than the 4th though.... so high hopes i guess are all i got.... sorry to those of you who are goin to that show though

and yeahh jay, im a system fan too.... and i like serj's solo stuff too

Shinedown and Sevendust are who I'm most interested in seeing tomorrow. Still no clue how the early entry is going to work because the times are wrong.... Hoping they call tomorrow to change it.

ok ok ok I really like serj too I just meant that when brent talks in between songs he's kind of just explaining his songs or his feelings behind them but some OTHER bands talk all political in between songs and that gets old fast. sooo please no more hate mail ,I'm kinda scared for my life

I got to see all of the guys in Philly. Chevelle has some issues with equipment, so I think they were pretty upset about that? But they did a good set. We saw the drummer (sorry don't know his name) and the drummer from 10 years (don't know his name either) walking around. They were smiles and waves. You know, it could just be personality clashes or something?!?! Not everyone is going to get along with others. I really enjoy Brents talks, I think it helps connect us all!!!!

FB does say that Chevelle isn't playing today.. but I do think it's a time restriction more than anything since our show can't start before 6 due to it being at the casino and all.. which gives us an end time of 11. :o

Yeah. I just saw that. But even in the radio ads more recently, they weren't saying Chevelle. And on the CoM FB page it says Chevelle won't be playing. I guess one of the boys will fill us in if they want to. :)

From what I heard, they were never doing the CT show, I think they might be playing somewhere else? But it was weird either way tht they said that in Philly, since they've already played, what? 2 shows since then? No idea, it does seem weird.

You guys will have to let us know how the CT show went. I hope it was worth it for you all and that you got lots of good pix Shawa.

This CoM was the second time around for both Chevelle and PoM. Maybe it's because I'm more familiar with this stuff, but I really enjoyed both of their shows. Yes, Chevelle plays on a different level than other bands, but he was really singing his heart out. PoM, I really didn't like their music very much at all, but after seeing them live, 2x, I really have started to dig them. Not going to go run out to get their cd necessarily, but I won't change the station when they come on.

yeahh dude on my facebook i have a pic with the whole banddd

You want tall? Casey, the lead singer of Cavo is effing tall! lol You can't really tell on stage, but when you stand next to him you feel tiny: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30870934&l=3916725f76&id=100300628

it kinda sounds like an Adam Lazzara copying.... he wraps the microphone around his neck and swings it across the whole stage during TBS performances....

the lead singer is incredibly tall and he wraps the microphone cord around his arm so tight it seems like wants to strangle someone lol you should check out some of their vids on youtube.

hahaha i never seen them, but i have some of their music and its really good =)

i like adelitas way too, i wasn't too sure about them but at the houston show last year in october they made me into a believer they are really good live. and their guitarist is cool but he really does look like a twelve year old lol.

Ok well I'll be the odd ball here.... love POM... and dont get me wrong, I still love Chevelle.... I just like to see high energy when I see live shows and theyre the first band I've seen that havent had much so their live show is disappointing although the music is still good.... if that makes sense? And Sevendust is good, but once I saw them live, I started liking them waaay more than before cuz they put on a real show.... & in agreement bout Adelita's Way, Pop Evil, Veer Union, & Burn Halo.... will have to look into Egypt Central....

in my opinion chevelle plays pretty good but their live show ain't all that great. Sevendust on the other hand really impressed me with their live show it was pretty cool. And puddle of mudd I don't really care too much for them they have a few good songs but eh it's just not that great for me. But that's just my opinion.

That would be a stellar line up. Even as a broke college kid I would find a way to go on that cruise. There are so many small yet awesome bands right now that I'd love to see in that line up like Adelita's Way, Pop Evil, Veer Union, Burn Halo, Egypt Central, etc.

In total agreement about it being a cool change of pace what chevelle does. It fits their music to talk less and just play. I would not like it if everyone did what shinedown does. That one reason I love shinedown. That makes them different. And shinedown's song tend to have deeper yet more apparent meaning than chevelle so one would only expect shinedown to talk more about songs. Chevelles tend to be deeper in a sense of it doesn't come right out and tell you what the song is about so it only makes sense they wouldn't do that at concerts either.

Puddle of mudd is a whole other animal. I like their live show. I think it's also a cool change of pace all the gimicks they do. But I can see where some might not like it.

We all gotta understand not every band does what Shinedown does, Chevelle just plays. That's cool, its a change of pace. Chevelle's sound reminds me of Breaking Benjamin, but I can't go official on that until I hear there studio work (only heard Chevelle live). This is a band I hope Shinedown keeps around (like the potential Shinedown lead cruise they have alluded to [no citation, heard it through someone who asked about it through a meet and greet]) having a similar lineup to the Carnival of Madness, minus Puddle of Mudd and replace with Black Stone Cherry(?) or Nick Perri's new band Sinai, would be the awesome.

They have a good energy, just not interacting with the crowd like the other bands were. That is probably why many of us didn't care for it. I liked it, just couldn't understand why they weren't interacting with the crowd like every other band I have ever seen in my entire life.

just my 2 cents but i've seen chevelle live 3 times and i actually really enjoyed them. its true their live show isn't spectacular with running around or pyro or anything but thats not who they are anyway. just by listening and knowing their music i actually expected them to be pretty much how they are live. but anyone who says they dont have any emotion on stage is just wrong. if you watch pete's facial expressions they are very intense and its actually very powerful. they have a completely different kind of energy and vibe they give off on stage. its a raw musically intensity matched by very few bands i've seen live.

hahaha yes this is true.... but i dunno if this is how everyone is, but me & my dad are both this way.... well still like them, but when we realize some douchebag dont give a fuck about their fans, were not as in to the band.... i mean, we can still like them a lot, but theres a lot more for the band when they can get into their fans.... its what made my dad like sevendust..... he HATES their music, but he said was probly one of his favorites.... and he refused to even listen to 1 whole sevendust song before the concert cuz he hated them so much.... he ended up liking sevendust more than 10 Years and Chevelle....
I like Breaking Benjamin waaaaay better though... Chevelle is really good with their music, but live, they dont do anything, theyre just there..... my dad even says they have the following to make it big, but theyre gonna lose it since they dont connect with their fans.... i kinda agree with that....
I don't agree with that, all these teeny bopper divas like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber don't connect with their fans, neither do rap/hip hop artists. If people dig their music, people dig it. People don't really care if the musician is a douchebag...actually they don't care if he/she is a douchebag at all, case in point Bon Jovi fans and Metallica fans...I like (some) of their music but think James Hetfield and Jon Bon Jovi are a couple of douchebags.

The following post was sponsored by the word "douchebag."
Ha, I like that story Dan. Matt also believe Peter Loeffler is manic depressant, so maybe he forgot to take his meds that day?
Now I know why they sound similar to Breaking Benjamin! Both their singers/guitarists are nutjobs! haha

RE CHEVELLE

WENT TO AUG 7TH SHOW AND CHEVELLE WAS THERE. I DID NOT CARE FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE AT ALL. NOT INTO THE AUDIENCE AT ALL. I WAS SHOCKED THAT THEY WENT ON AFTER PUDDLE OF MUDD!(WAY BETTER BAND). THIS BAND DOES NOT HAVE IT TO BE ON THIS PLAYBILL. SORRY. EVEN ONE OF USHERS OF DETROIT DTE SHOW SAID SHE GOT A HEADACHE LISTENING TO CHEVELLE. IF THEY LEAVE NO BIG LOSS. TRUST ME

Ha, I like that story Dan. Matt also believe Peter Loeffler is manic depressant, so maybe he forgot to take his meds that day?

it was probably a joke they wanted to play on Philly, they are from Chicago so they probably wanted to put more salt on the wound that the Blackhawks beat the Flyers in the Stanley Cup Finals. That's my story at least and I'm sticking to it.

But they didn't once acknowledge it, it's like there was an elephant in the room and they ignored it. And it was too loud for anyone else to bring it up.

Yeah, Chevelle played tonight. And we saw them at the buses while we were waiting for the SD M&G. That was pretty cool.

maybe they were just mad and thought about quitting...? i dunno....

THANKS PIXIE

Thanks for the video. A small sigh of relief. I just hope things are ok and its not too stressful for the bands.

Hey pixie I cant find that vid. What is it under?

There is a video posted on SD.com that says that Chevelle is on the tour despite things that may have been said on stage so I guess that confirms it and they are still on the COM website sooo.....

Just got back from the CT show. Without spoiling it for those who haven't gone yet... is a pure wow-fest and you really will not be disappointed. Shinedown and Sevendust are my two favorites of the evening.

They let us in at 4:45 for the early entry.. after not contacting us about 3:30 being the incorrect time.

Chevelle wasn't there, obviously. I really can't remember if they mentioned them or not, but if they did, it was something to the effect of them not being at our show..... I believe it was Lajon from Sevendust who mentioned it.

And yes, I got some really good pics. (I was just to the left of the center on the barricade) I'll have to sort through 'em and put 'em up somewhere.

i think when they think he talks too much, they mean in general, not just during the shows.....

by the looks, its only the 1 show, maybe it was a blow up that ended up with empty meaning? ugh i wanna know whats going on!!!!
well this is the first im hearing about chevelle droppin out of COM or even breaking up as a band. my posts have been kinda limited lately i've been busy at work. but if chevelle is upset with brent talking then i guess that's just too bad cuz i don't want brent to stop talking in between songs i love the stories behind the songs. guess we'll just wait and see what happens.
But when he does too many monologues it really breaks up the momentum of the show. I like it when he explains songs too, but save it for the newer songs. Brent does have a tendency to talk a bit too much. I just don't know how that should effect Chevelle. I think this is bogus, another band's performance isn't going to affect them. If they drop out its because they don't get along with Shinedown or another band OFF the stage, not on it.
