1st of all i have no reason to lie and why would they lie and if i was wrong id admit it. And just a guestion have you personally used these machines yourself and if not how would you know to what extent they worked?

I thought they sounded great!

The vocals did sound "larger than life" but I figured that was due to the symphony backing going on.

Brent also did look nervous, but I would be too!

I do keep wondering, what was Zach looking up at??

I don't care they are a great band and they were on Leno.
Big deal if they did lypsync the song. It's their song they recoreded it and that's it. NBC may have told them to do it who knows who cares? It was Shinedown on NBC. I hope they pull in tons more fans so Atlantic records has no choice but to push them more, put out more DVD's and CD's and give the boys in the band what they need!!!

Do you complain when you here them on the radio that it's not live?

Either this is a lie, or they're lying to you.
Even pitch correction won't make every cut off and slight vibrato identical to the recording (and I have compared).

sweet that you talked to them about it. i was like 99% sure it was not lipsynced but Thank You for removing any doubts! i know how good brent can sing live so i know he doesnt have to lipsync or anything...and i know the guys arent a bunch of posers. amazing how so many so-called fans were so quick to believe the worst.

i gotta agree with you.. yes it does sound really good, like in the studio, but that might have been how they wanted to sound last night rather than how they usually sound live since it was in front of so many people. i just dont think they would lip sync.

so because I went to the show and spent 2 hours driving to hear them play 1 song and am seeing 6 times and I am crossing the country to see them perform, but because I believe in my heart I believe that he wouldn't lip sync that makes me not a fan that's really logical

lypsync'd or not, it was a great opportunity for the band. if it was lipsync'd there's a good reason for it. anyone who's been a fan awhile and knows what brent and shinedown are about would know this is a no bullshit band. they're not a bunch of fakers, give em a break and trust they did what they needed to. anyway, its not like brent has a 'studio' voice he wants to use to cover his live voice. go see them a few times and you know brent can hit it live just as good, or better than, he does on the recordings.
i'm more concerned about brent f-ckin'shaking like that than whether he lipsync'd or not.

He's very obviously not singing. The average person wouldn't be able to tell, but any Shinedown fan should be able to catch it immediately. He looks completely unnatural. I'd really like to know why. Any reason other than Brent being ill would be fucked up.

if you truly think this is brent singing you arent a shinedown fan. brent sings songs different live, theres a different feel, watch any other clip of second chance on youtube and youll hear how the bridge is sung differently because its hard to sing studio quality live, here its the exact same... i mean EXACT same the tone the note the length.

The more i watch im wondering if they enhanced because when i was there it sounded a little different his vocals sounded weaker live

Theres one thing were in agreement on haha but how do u explain eric and zack there vocals on leno dont sound the same as the studio recording

I swear to god that brent wasnt faking it because he was elaborating on the vocals not the lyrics but the pitch and tone play the cd and the performance at the same time i guaran fucking tee the live performance will be longer plus when i was there you could tell brent was holding back on singing it wasnt as poweful as when you see him live(i saw them the night before at HOB Hollywood so i know)

Why would he be nervous ill tell you they have a new record new band members and leno is fucking big time i mean how many people across the nation and world wide (my cousin from ireland caught the show) there are millions of viewers they are used to house of blues type venues with 5 mabye 600 people at a time and itll be the first time(correct me please if im wrong) playing anything off the new cd c mon performing in front of millions i cant even fathom what they were going through (plus i highly doubt they would agree to do the show if they were lip syncing it)

shinedown is by far my favorite band and their live shows are unparalleled but this performance is 100% bullshit... maybe nick zach barry and eric were all playin their instruments but brent was completely lip synching, you know how i know if you listen to the cd then listen to his performance its the exact same. this is fucking rediculous how obvious it was, who the hell are you ashley simpson? you dont want to be fake and dont want to sugar coat anything then fucking sing next time.

ever think brent was nervous because he was lip synching and was hoping nobody would find out? why would he be nervous for performing on leno when hees done other late night shows and fucking packed festivals?

Leno has it on the NBC site for you to see if you missed it.

The Shinedown web page has a bunch of posts by people that never hear of them but saw them on Leno and loved them.

Looks like being on Leno did what the boys wanted it to do.

i don't think its bad brent was nervous, hell who wouldn't be.
there were a couple points in the song where you could tell it wasn't lip-sync'd. one especially near the middle (i'll have to watch again to say exactly) where brent's voice didn't quite carry.

I can assure you that they were not faking it i was right there dead center in the crowd i do think he might have been scared but its their 1st ever major live tv performance i felt like he was holding his vocals a little bit but i promise everyone its true i dont think they would do a show if they had to lip it plus leno says before the show its all real so if the band messes up its on them and if it sound like the record they are professionals and just think about the countless number of times they have played it

I'm very dissapointed that Brent had to lipsynch this.

Visually it was covered up well, but the vocals were clearly mixed differently, so the whole thing sounded awkward.

I am not a fan of Leno at this point, I bought tickets and 3 nights in Vegas from cleveland. my flight heads home sunday afternoon, thus screwing me, and to change my flights would cost $1100 at this point for my wife and I. I am huge fan THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
