SHINEDOWN SHARE CONTEST

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE SHINEDOWN/SHARE CONTEST??? THE TOP TEN PLAYERS ACCOUNTS HAVE GONE? ANY ONE WHO HAD OVER 17000 PTS IS OFF THE BOARD, I AM TOLD THAT EVEN SOME WITH LESS THAN 17000 ARE OFF THE BOARD, AND WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE STILL ONLINE AND EARNING POINTS, PLEASE LET US KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!! I KNOW THERE WAS A TECHNICAL PROBLEM WITH THE CALCUALTING  THE POINTS FROM THE CLICKS..........  IF THEY R WORKING ON CORRECTING THAT IS GREAT BUT LET US KNOW......... Just heard on 9/13, the site was hacked :(

9/10- Good news people, I am working with the "thingfo" the people running the shinedown share contest, they are saying to sign up again, the problem should be fixed by mid week, all info on the clicking problem is being stored right now, but what I need is all of u to sign up again and post here your name in the game and the amount of points you has the last time you looked , I am passing that info in bulk to them, Mcj48 can u email me that screen shot u have my email is flbuddmann@aol.com, if not type all info here with the full names and points....they are going to restore my points and the others that I send it in so sign up and send me ur info ASAP!!!!!!

Hi Mary,

Thanks for the note and first of all, our apologies for these issues!  We are so glad you have been enjoying Share Shinedown.

The "click points" issue is due to some changes and a strange bug which were introduced recently by our URL-shortening and click-tracking provider.  (We integrate with a 3rd party service for those features).   We are working with them to fix the issue.  All the data is being stored which means that we can award points equally (in proportion to clicks of course) to all players as soon as it's fixed.  It looks to be fixed by mid-next-week.

In terms of accounts, if yours (or any players') has gone missing, go ahead and sign up again, and much of your content will be restored. Since we realize that importing your activity after-the-fact, the the system may not automatically restore all your points.

However, we'll take the users who experienced problems and their activity data and do some data-crunching.  We can restore points or and/or will be able to ensure that each player is treated equally.

That is fantastic you have that screenshot.  Only a small percentage of players overall have lost accounts but is incredibly frustrating.  Please feel free to send me any data and screenshots so we can help out those players. 

We'll restore your full points, but are going to wait a bit to do this as a batch as you provide us with other point totals and the others re-link.

Shinedown fans, some of you have noticed that accounts were deleted from Share Shinedown.  We believe that the Share Shinedown administrator account was hacked. This is very unfortunate as tons of you have worked so hard to earn your points. In order to figure out exactly what happened and how we can assure this never happens again, we are looking into this issue further. We hope to have an answer for you in the next few days.

In the meantime, because of the great enthusiasm everyone has shown for Share Shinedown, we are going to start randomly selecting fans who’ve taken part and send some exclusive prizes.

I am bummed , they will not be restoring our points, but they say they have come up with a soultion;
here is the email from today;

Hi,

We talked it over with the team from Atlantic and have a solution
which they'll announce next week. We think it is very fair and the
fans will like it. I'm not authorized to discuss it yet, but I do
think it is an even better solution than restoring the accounts we
could identify (only a partial solution).
