I am doing my first Meet and Greet (with anyone ever) and don't know what to expect. What happens at a meet and greet? What kinds of items can be signed? How fast do they move you through? Can't wait to see the acoustic show, and I'm also wondering if the meet and greet will be smaller since the show all together is smaller. Any thoughts on that? Thanks in advance all you seasoned Shinedown fans!!!

attended a meet and greet last saturday. They gave us a small poster at the meet and greet to get signed. Does anyone know if this was the poster that was supposed to come with the VIP package, or if a serperate one will be mailed?
YES!!!!! 3 DAYS!!!!!!!
When I started reading this thread I was just curious to see what everyone had to say, by the end I was a nervous wreak! I am counting on Dawnie (that is SO odd! LOL) and Mandy to keep me from making an ass of my self with the guys! I know I will be stunned into either silence or stupidity! Our day is coming quick...THREE!!!
Lorimemory
There is no doubt you will be able to take pics with the guys. Every single m&g i have been to- including an acoustic show, was actually all about getting your pic taken with them. If you have a small camera you might be able to get it into the show too- depending on the venue. At COM show I got my camera into show after m&g really easy. So hang on to camera in case you can get it into show. Or have a really good cell phone to take pics during show. Either way you will have some great shots!
Well I certainly am hoping and praying that the VIP acoustic M&G will allow for pics. The first show is not far away so it won't be long before hopefully someone can shed some light for us.
My meet & greet is a week and a half away, and I am SO nervous!!!! Total Jurrasic sized butterflies! I could barely speak in Jax. I am SO going to make an ass of myself! Does anyone know if cameras are allowed?
I think anytime you ever get a chance to even say "Hi" to any one of these 4 , is an honor! they are the greatest band I"ve ever met!!
LOL! I feel the same way Mandy feels! I will meet them for the first time, and I'm afraid nothing will come out of my mouth! Thanks, Wendy, for explaining the M & G! Are the M & Gs before or after the show?
Mandy - don't worry - your big sister will make sure you don't make an ass out of yourself.
LOL.... that is as long as I don't make an ass out of MYself!!!
I've been Meeting & Greeting Shinedown since 2006! They have been and are always the sweetest buggers out there! They appreciate their fans more then any band I've ever heard of and met and I know they do what they can to at least get some Hi's in while they can. When you get to meet them you'll see what I'm talking about! Plus they are all steller looking men! It's hard to care about how long you get to see them as long as you do! That's how I see it anyway! And when it comes to cost of tickets, well I'm paying over 500$ to get to New Orleans for their acoustic show and it will be worth every penny!
Mandy Good luck with your Meet and Greet! It's exciting stuff!
I know Dawnie (feels funny calling you that--hahaha) I'm totally excited to meet them. Just hoping I don't make an ass out of myself! LOL!!!
Thanks Wendy!! After your comments I'm even more excited than I was before! I didn't expect much more than a quick hi and an autograph out of the wristband m&g, especially for $20 including a CD. The m&g's you have been to sound like exactly what I was hoping for! I agree, Mand... can't imagine them being anything but friendly. It's going to be awesome!
Thank you Wendy. That is very helpful!!! I can't imagine them being anything but friendly and pretty cool group of guys!
I would love to meet Shinedown again and maybe this time get more things signed and get a pic!!
Also the armband meet & greets are after the concert- usually dont have time to spend signing and talking all night. The VIP m&g are much better
The Carnival of Madness meet & greet was somewhat rushed and lost of people- mine had 35 total. But the smaller venues offer a wonderful experience the guys. The 2 I had prior to COM were amazing. There maybe 6 of us total and we took pictures group and with each one individually. As they signed just about anything I wanted( I had pics, drumhead, poster & matt from a previously signed pic) they talked to us like we were their long lost friends. Even with the last one being a rush job it was still a great experience. The guys said hello and talked to you as long as they could and gave you their full attention when they did.
The guys also know that we are paying top dollar for these m&g's and they will show you the respect they show us stage. You will remember it for quite some time. You will be aazed by how approachable and friendly they really are. I hope you anjoy your m&g and show.
Yeah, I hope it's a little different than the wristband M & G, otherwise...that's a lot of money for a quick "hi". I at least would LOVE a picture!!! I know there won't be time for lengthy conversation or anything like that.
I guess now I am wondering if there is a difference between the VIP meet & greets and buying the CD and wristband from the merch stand at the show. I did the wristband M&G back in February at the Fillmore in Detroit - I agree, was run through very quickly, only able to say a quick "hi" and get an autograph, no pictures allowed. Am certainly hoping the VIP one is better after paying $175 for tix!!! Can anyone shed some light??
Most of the meet and greets, they run you through like cattle, but I think these acoustic shows will be different. I think they will be a lot more intimate. They usually don't let you stop for pictures, but maybe since these are smaller venues, everything will be more laid back. After all, it is "Anything and Everything"
I hope!
Hey.. I think I know you... aren't you my sister??? I'd like to know what to expect too!!
Can't wait for the show and the m&g. Any advice you veteran shinedown fans have to offer us would be great!!!
I met them in Jacksonville in August, but it was after the show, and more of a quick "Hi, how are ya" and sign autographs kind of thing. Which I fully understood, b/c they had just played killer show, the first stop on the Carnival of Madness tour, and they were way tired, you could tell. But they were so gracious and sweet. Zack was the quietest. :) But in Nov, I am going to an actual meet and greet in Tampa. Bought it for my B-Day, which is the next day after the show. So, it is a very good question. What do we expect??
A very good question, Mandy! I will be meeting them for the first time in D.C. and was wondering the same thing. I'm excited?
