Hmm Interesting topic, I really don't know what or how the band interprets the crows but for me i have heard all my life especially from grandparents that crows represent that something is going to happen. Whether it was good or bad. So for me whenever i see crows i always question, "What is going to happen. I have actually had a few incidents that yeah after seeing the crows i have had an experience of some kind.
I just got the crows tattooed last night - with my own interpretation - now I see Brent's comment below and that validates what I wanted this tattoo to be! :)
Wow, that's pretty friggin cool. Good stuff to know. Hoping Crow and the Butterfly is a kick ass video. Know it's rough on the band though. It seems like you guys haven't had a decent break in a long time. Seems like you guys have been on tour since you finished working on SOM in the studio.

I have seen you in concert 3 times in the past year and will be seeing you again in a few short months. I have never been so impressed with a band before, the way I find myself drawn to you. Every song is as amazing as the others and they all have so much emotion and meaning in them. None are without a sense of deep meaning. Many of your songs have guided me through so many different things in my life and I thank you for writing something that actually MATTERS! Of course! Their lyrics translate into so many different things and, to me, thats one of the many things about them that make them truly versitile. That allows a broader spectrum of people to become interested in their music.
i agree with you.. i look at it in so many ways. I have yet to share simply because I am interested to see what other people have to say first! I also think one of the greatest things about shinedown is that they write in such an amazing way that you can interpret it any way that you want, to make it relate to you and your own life, to a certain degree.
Wow! Cool topic! And an honor to be the first to comment, the same. To be honest, my interpretation of the Crow and the Butterfly translates to the idea of reflecting on yourself. You see yourself as the crow (a darker creature that isnt always thought of as "beautiful") and you see your loved one(s) as a butterfly (something graceful and majestic and beautiful...almost unreachable). To me, its kind of like, "how can I obtain that quality?" or "why and how does this connection and love exist?"
Maybe I'm totally off from Brent's meaning lol. But thats how it relates to me on a personal level. =)
