I absolutely love this song, I don't think anyone could ever do it better than this. There are alot of talented artist out there but not all of them can pull this off. You have the perfect voice. I think of my younger son when I listen to this song, so thank you.
Amazing cover of Simple Man and just a gee wizz statement and anyone correct me but the woman in the video is Eddy Van Zandt's daughter who dated I believe the guitarist and the little girl in the video is their daughter holding a picture of Eddy which always gives me the chills. And Eddy's wife did some production? work for shinedown.

My personal opinion...Shinedown's version is a lot better than the original version (no offense to Lynard Skynard!) I just love the emotion and power Brent puts into this song! It's so amazing :)

This song already brought back so many memories and meant so much to me that I never imagined it could be any closer to my heart than it already was until I heard Shinedowns cover...and the hair on the back of my neck stayed raised for the rest of the night......Great Job Brent!!! Saw them last night in Philly and they were fantastic!!! I first got into Shinedown when I heard Simple Man on the juke box in a bar. I ask the bartender who this was and she said Shinedown. After that I started checking out their other songs I thought WOW their music is great.
